The BD BACTEC Aerobic Culture Vial is only acceptable as a substitute for the Myco/F Lytic Culture Vial for newborns/infants, if a Myco/F Lytic Culture Vial is not available. These vials must be labeled as “FUNGAL BLOOD CULTURE”; in addition, the order code FBCX must be requested. Use aseptic technique for blood culture collection.
