Misc Instructions

SPECIMEN COLLECTION: Aspirates, body fluids, tissues or material collected from areas where Cutibacterium acnes is suspected to be causing infections (particularly those associated with hardware and joint replacements of the knee, hip, shoulder or spine)
Aspirated specimens are optimal
Collect specimens in a manner which avoids exposure to air and contamination with normal flora
If collected with a swab, use either ESwab (preferred) or blue-top swab with gel
