All blue citrate tubes must be filled to the proper level as indicated on vacutainer tube no matter what size tube you are using.
The FSP test has been used primarily to assess disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Because of its greater specificity, the D-dimer test has largely replaced the FSP test for DIC assessment. However, the FSP test is still useful in the diagnosis and evaluation of primary fibrinolysis in which the D-dimer test is negative but the FSP test is positive.
