“PATIENT PREPARATION: Do not draw above a running heparin line
If a line has ever had heparin in it, it is not suitable for coagulation tests. SPECIMEN COLLECTION: Specimen must be collected using a 21-gauge or larger needle
Draw a discard tube first. Use a non-additive tube or Light Blue (3.2% Sodium Citrate) tube marked “”Discard””
All Light Blue (3.2% Sodium Citrate) tubes must be filled to the proper level as indicated on the vacutainer tube
1 Light Blue (3.2% Sodium Citrate), 2.7mL. SPECIMEN PREPARATUION: After collection invert tube 5 times
DO NOT CENTRIFUGELet rest for 10 minutes at room temperature prior to testing.
