Use test code PM for platelet mapping at PCH. COLLECTION: 1 full Dark Green (Lithium or Sodium Heparin)

Use a 21 gauge, or larger bore, needle
First, draw a discard tube. Use a no-additive tube, or Light Blue (3.2% Sodium Citrate) tube, marked “”discard””. SPECIMEN PREPARATION: After collection, invert tube 5 times
Do not centrifuge; testing is performed on whole blood
